Een druk seizoenseinde! Eind mei verzamelden alle zangers zich in Millegem voor een opname van enkele repertoirestukken. De 2 nieuw gecomponeerde werken van Vigdis Hansa Elst en Michiel Verfaillie ontbraken uiteraard niet.
In het eerste weekend van juni mochten we het programma "Deus ex machina" brengen in de Sint-Peter en Pauluskerk in Middelburg op uitnodiging van CC Den Hoogen Pad (Maldegem). Een langdurige staande ovatie door het publiek was onze beloning!

DINSDAG 19 DECEMBER 2023
Op zondag 17 december 2023 bracht Chamber Choir Flanders het programma "Ero Cras" in première in Hijfte (Lochristi) en op maandag 18 december 2023 in Mechelen. Het programma bestaat uit enkele bekende en minder bekende zettingen van O-antifonen, aangevuld met échte kerstliederen. Nieuw was ook de creatie van "O Adonai", geschreven voor het koor door Michiel Verfaillie.

Van 12 tot en met 16 april 2023 trok het Chamber Choir Flanders naar Berlijn voor deelname aan het festival "Walking in Beauty". Daar kreeg het koor de kans om te werken met componist Eriks Esenvalds op één van zijn composities "The New Moon". Daarnaast verzorgde het koor verschillende concerten in Berlijn, waaronder een optreden in de prestigieuze zaal van de Philharmonie Berlijn!

Op het Internationaal Koorfestival Genk (België) behaalde Chamber Choir Flanders de 4e plaats met grote onderscheiding (86%). Daarmee waren ze ook het beste Vlaamse gemengd koor. Een greep uit de feedback:

Op het Internationaal Koorfestival CantaRode (Kerkrade, Nederland) behaalde Chamber Choir Flanders de 4e plaats met grote onderscheiding. Daarenboven kreeg het koor de Klankstad Kerkrade-prijs voor de beste vernieuwende repertoirekeuze. Een geslaagd festivalweekend dus!

A busy end of season! At the end of May, all singers gathered in Millegem for a recording of some repertoire pieces. The 2 newly composed works by Vigdis Hansa Elst and Michiel Verfaillie were of course not missing.

At the International Choir Festival Cantarode (Kerkrade, the Netherlands), Chamber Choir Flanders won 4th place with great distinction. The programme that the choir sang there was also awarded the Klankstad Kerkrade prize for the best innovative choice of repertoire.

Chamber Choir Flanders ontstond in 2021 naar aanleiding van de World Choir Games in Vlaanderen. Het wil op projectmatige basis zangers samenbrengen die vol passie zingen, graag een stapje verder zetten en niet bang zijn van een uitdaging.
Bij de allereerste publieke prestatie, op de World Choir Games 2021, werd het koor meteen categoriewinnaar in de Open Competitie, "Mixed Vocal Ensembles & Chamber Choirs". Met de uitvoering van "Laetentur Caeli" won het koor bovendien de 1e prijs van Euprint, voor beste uitvoering van een Vlaams koorwerk.

Chamber Choir Flanders was founded in 2021 on the occasion of the World Choir Games in Flanders. On a project basis, it wants to bring together singers who sing with passion, who like to go the extra mile and who are not afraid of a challenge.
At its very first public performance at the World Choir Games 2021, the choir was immediately category winner in the Open Competition, "Mixed Vocal Ensembles & Chamber Choirs". Tijdens intensieve studiejaren behaalde Jeroen aan het Lemmensinstituut drie Masterdiploma’s in de muziek voor klassieke gitaar, kamermuziek en orkestdirectie. Om zich verder te bekwamen in koordirectie volgde Jeroen verschillende masterclasses bij Prof. Andre de Quadros (USA) en Lone Larsen (Denemarken), bij Hervé Niquet (Frankrijk), bij Prof. Markus Utz (Génève) en Prof. Denis Rouger (Stuttgart).
Na passages bij Camerata Ostendia, Musica Nova en Vivente Voce dirigeert Jeroen het Mechelse Vokalis en het Chamber Choir Flanders. Met dit jonge ensemble behaalde hij de afgelopen jaren verdienstelijke prijzen op internationale koorwedstrijden.
Een actieve carrière in het onderwijs, als leerkracht (Oudenaarde) en als directeur (Wilrijk en Borgerhout) sloot hij in juli 2019 af als netwerkdirecteur van de Academies Stedelijk Onderwijs. In augustus 2019 nam Jeroen een nieuwe uitdaging aan, waarin verschillende passies bij elkaar komen, als algemeen directeur van Koor&Stem vzw, de Vlaamse amateurkunstenorganisatie voor vocale muziek.
Na passages bij Camerata Ostendia, Musica Nova en Vivente Voce dirigeert Jeroen het Mechelse Vokalis en het Chamber Choir Flanders. Met dit jonge ensemble behaalde hij de afgelopen jaren verdienstelijke prijzen op internationale koorwedstrijden.
Een actieve carrière in het onderwijs, als leerkracht (Oudenaarde) en als directeur (Wilrijk en Borgerhout) sloot hij in juli 2019 af als netwerkdirecteur van de Academies Stedelijk Onderwijs.
